Eligibility Criteria for Admission in MBBS

For the 2023 session, candidates aiming for admission to the First Year MBBS program in Sindh Province, across all admission categories, are required to have achieved a minimum of 60% aggregate marks in the Higher Secondary Certificate Examinations (HSSC) or F.Sc. (Pre-Medical), or an equivalent qualification from a recognized board or institution acknowledged by IBCC. Specifically, a minimum of 55% marks in the MDCAT Session 2024 is mandatory.
Applicants under various categories such as general merit, merit-cum-choice, University Development Programs, University Education Assistance Programs, and disabled seats must possess Permanent Residence (as specified in B-Form/CNIC) and Domicile certificates from the respective tagged districts of Sindh. Additionally, the candidate's father/mother (in the event of paternal demise or divorce) must hold a domicile of Sindh province.
Candidates are required to submit their SSC, HSSC/F.Sc., and MDCAT results for admission. The merit list will be formulated based on a weighted formula:
• SSC/Matriculation/Equivalent (10%)
• HSSC/F.Sc. (Pre-Medical) or Equivalent (40%)
• MDCAT (50%)
However, candidates failing to secure a minimum of 55% marks for MBBS in the MDCAT Session 2023 will not be considered eligible on merit.
Overseas Pakistani candidates must provide documented proof of their Pakistani background and education obtained from institutes located outside Pakistan. Only candidates who have completed at least two years of education (HSC or equivalent) outside Pakistan will be considered under the overseas Pakistani/Foreign category.
