INTRODUCTION OF FORENSIC MEDICINE & TOXICOLOGY DEPARTMENT:
Department of Forensic Medicine & Toxicology is situated in the old building on 1st floor near Department of Community Medicine. The Department consist of one office for Chairman / Professor, one office for Assistant Professor, One office for lecturers, one office for technical staff, one Forensic Museum, corridor & Tutorial room.
The corridor of Department is well organized containing many displays on either sides of wall on various disciplines of Forensic conditions. The Forensic Museum is well organized consist of air conditioned, various items are available e.g many poisons, Serological section, Models, Autopsy instruments, illuminators for teaching the Forensic Radiology to the undergraduates & Postgraduates Students, Human Skeleton, Autopsy mounts, weapons of assault, various models of fetus etc:
Whereas the tutorial room contains two air conditioners, seating of 55 (Fifty Five) students for demonstration / discussion classes with availability of teaching aids.
i. To teach the Subject of Forensic Medicine & Toxicology to Undergraduate & Postgraduates students in Lectures & Demonstrations.
ii. To teach the Subject of Forensic Medicine & Toxicology to Postgraduates students of D.M.J (Diploma in Medical Juris Prudence).
iii. To conduct the Seminars / Discussions classes for Undergraduates & Postgraduates students.
iv. To show the injured cases / poisoning cases / sexual assault cases / age estimation to Undergraduate & Postgraduate students.
v. Demonstration of Autopsy in mortuary on Hospital side to Undergraduate & Postgraduate students.
vi. Arrangements for showing the Exhumation cases in graveyard.
i. Teaching the subject of Forensic Medicine & Toxicology in 3rd Year MBBS.
ii. Teaching the subject of Forensic Medicine & Toxicology / Forensic Science / Practical work / Medicolegal Training / Autopsies to Postgraduates of D.M.J (Diploma in Medical Juris Prudence) course.
