Higher Education Commission has taken many technology initiatives in agreement with Microsoft for setting up and award the status of Microsoft IT Academy to all private and public sector universities and Certiport Testing Center to all public sector universities across Pakistan and AJ&K.

These programs shall provide online training materials, specifically certified courses for Microsoft products, demonstrating industry recognized qualifications in Productivity, Computer Science and IT Infrastructure to a large number of students and that too free of cost.

This initiative has been taken under the Prime Minister's Laptops Scheme for the benefit of all, Faculty and students.

HEC's Initiative is a huge step towards the realization of HEC's vision of having an education system which produces graduates and scholars whose skills are certified against a singular scale, a scale recognized in every country around the globe.

The Microsoft IT Academy program provides a complete IT education solution that bridges the world of education with the world of work. The program is designed to help drive employability, digital literacy, technical and STEM-focused training and certification, and 21st-century workforce development for students.

Peoples' University of Medical and Health Sciences for women, Shaheed Benaziarabd, in pursuance of the vision and directive of higher education commission has launched the IT academy and has been approved as Certiport testing center at its IT department.
