My name is Dr. Munazzah Meraj. I completed my Ph.D. in Biochemistry from the University of Agriculture, Faisalabad, in 2012, following my M.Phil. degrees in the same field. I am currently serving as an Associate Professor of Biochemistry at Peoples University of Medical and Health Sciences, Nawabshah, where I have been teaching since 2012. I am also the Director of the Office of Research, Innovation, and Commercialization (ORIC) and the Deputy Director of Research at the university, where I am deeply involved in promoting academic research and fostering innovation across various disciplines.
In my role as an educator, I have taught Biochemistry to students at various levels, including MBBS, M.Phil., Pharm D, and Nursing students. I have a strong passion for helping students develop a deep understanding of Biochemistry and its real-world applications. My teaching philosophy emphasizes practical knowledge, critical thinking, and research-oriented learning.
My research interests are diverse, focusing on enzyme biotechnology, medicinal plant extraction, metabolic engineering, and clinical biochemistry. Over the years, I have worked on various research projects, including the extraction, purification, and characterization of enzymes, as well as developing enzyme-based clinical kits. I have also explored microbial production of industrial and clinical enzymes, organic acids, and drugs. Additionally, I have been involved in research on protein engineering and the production of cell-free proteins.
Throughout my career, I have been dedicated to advancing the field of Biochemistry through both my teaching and research efforts. I am committed to making a meaningful impact in academia, fostering innovation, and contributing to the scientific community.
